How to use before and after photos to get more customers
Every finished job is an advert you have already paid for. Most service businesses simply never post them.
Where to post
- Your Google Business Profile, where local customers are already looking.
- Facebook local groups, if their rules allow it.
- Instagram, for visual trades like detailing and landscaping.
- Your website, on a page for each service.
- Your quotes, to show similar work.
What to write
Keep it short: the area, the problem and the result. "Driveway in Marina, 8 years of algae, cleaned in a morning" is better than a paragraph of adjectives. Include your phone number on the image, as posts get reshared without their caption.
Ask first
Get the client's permission before posting photos of their property. Most people say yes if you ask when they are pleased with the work. Leave out house numbers, number plates, faces and anything personal.
Make it a routine
One post a week adds up to 52 pieces of proof a year. Choose your best job on Friday and post it. Anything longer tends not to happen.
Questions
Should I use a slider or a side-by-side image?
Sliders work best on web pages and client links. Side-by-side images are better on social media, because they can be read without tapping.
How do I get more reviews?
Ask straight after the client sees the result, and send a direct link to your review page.
