A Housecall Pro alternative for job photos
Housecall Pro is home service software for scheduling, dispatch, invoicing and payments. Its photo reports start on the middle plan. If photo proof is what you are after, JobProof does that part for free.
How the two compare
Housecall Pro is priced by plan, with a set number of users on each. The figures below are from its own pricing page, which also shows short introductory offers.
| Feature | JobProof | Housecall Pro |
|---|---|---|
| Starting price | Free, no card | Basic $59 a month billed annually, or $79 billed monthly, for 1 user |
| Five people | Free | Essentials $149 a month billed annually, or $189 billed monthly |
| Larger teams | Free | Max $299 a month billed annually, or $329 monthly, for 8 users, then $35 per extra user |
| Scheduling, dispatch and invoices | No | Yes, this is its main strength |
| Photo reports | Before and after pairs, a client link and a CSV export | Photo reports and annotations on Essentials and Max |
| Before and after photos | Yes: ghost overlay, automatic pairs, slider | Not listed on the pricing page |
| Works offline | Yes: photos save on the phone and upload later | Offline viewing, on every plan |
| Free trial | No trial needed | 14 days on Max, no card required |
Housecall Pro details come from its own page, checked 4 November 2026. Prices change, so confirm them there. "Not listed" means we could not find it on that page, not that it is missing from the product.
What it costs as your crew grows
Basic covers one user at $59 a month billed annually. Five users on Essentials costs $149 a month billed annually, and that is also the first plan with photo reports. Max covers eight users for $299 a month billed annually, and each extra user adds $35 a month.
On JobProof the whole team is free, with fair limits of 500 photos per job and 5,000 per organisation.
Why people look for an alternative
Housecall Pro scored 2.9 out of 5 on Trustpilot from 701 reviews when we checked. The complaints we read were mostly about reaching a person in support, price rises, and updates that changed how things worked. Some reviewers also found the interface hard to find their way around.
Those are reviews, not facts we have tested. But if your main need is photos, it is worth knowing that photo reports are not on the Basic plan.
What JobProof does differently
- A crew member sees only their jobs, in big numbered steps, in their own language.
- A job can't be marked complete until an After photo is in.
- The client gets one link with your logo and a before and after slider, with no login.
When Housecall Pro is the better choice
If you want to book jobs, dispatch technicians, send invoices and take payment from one app, Housecall Pro does that and JobProof does not.
If you already invoice another way and want your crew to send proof from every job, JobProof covers that without a monthly fee.
You can also run both. Keep booking and invoicing in Housecall Pro, and use JobProof on site so every job ends with an After photo and a client link. A finished job can trigger a webhook, which you can pass on through Zapier or Make.
