A GoCanvas alternative for small crews
GoCanvas turns paper forms into mobile forms, with photo capture and PDF reports on every plan. It suits businesses that run on inspections and checklists. If your proof is mostly photos, JobProof is a simpler and free option.
How the two compare
GoCanvas prices every plan per user and bills annually, with at least three users. That puts the smallest plan at $87 a month for three people, paid for the year.

GoCanvas details come from its own page, checked 4 November 2026. Prices change, so confirm them there. "Not listed" means we could not find it on that page, not that it is missing from the product.
What it costs as your crew grows
At list prices billed annually, three users cost $1,044 a year on Essentials, $1,404 on Pro and $1,764 on Max. Ten users on Essentials cost $3,480 a year.
On JobProof the whole team is free, with fair limits of 500 photos per job and 5,000 per organisation.
Why people look for an alternative
GoCanvas has only 15 reviews on Trustpilot, with a score of 1.9 out of 5 when we checked, and Trustpilot notes the company has not recently invited reviews, so read them with care. The complaints we read were about price rises after users were added, not being able to reduce the number of users during a contract, and slow replies from support.
For a crew that just needs photos from each job, a yearly per-user contract can be a lot to commit to.
What JobProof does differently
- A crew member sees only their jobs, in big numbered steps, in their own language.
- A job can't be marked complete until an After photo is in.
- The client gets one link with your logo and a before and after slider, with no login.
When GoCanvas is the better choice
If you need custom forms, such as safety inspections, signatures or detailed checklists, and you want them as PDF reports, GoCanvas is built for that. JobProof does not build forms.
If your record of the work is mostly before and after photos, JobProof does that with no contract.
Photos or forms?
Ask what your client actually signs off on. If it is a filled-in form, such as a safety check or a service sheet, a forms tool fits. If it is how the place looks when you leave, a before and after pair says more than a form field.
If you only need a paper form now and then, our free printable templates, such as the photo report template, can be filled in by hand.
Questions
What is the cheapest way to use GoCanvas?
The pricing page lists Essentials at $29 per user a month, with a 3-user minimum, billed annually. That is $1,044 a year at the lowest.
Can JobProof make PDF reports?
Not as a built-in PDF. It gives the client a link with a before and after slider, and it exports jobs to Excel as a CSV file.
Is there a contract with JobProof?
No. It is free, you start with no card, and there is no paid plan today. If paid plans arrive later for larger teams, you will be told first.
