Construction photo documentation app for progress and site photos

On a building site, most of what matters is covered up within weeks. Photos taken regularly from the same spots are the record of what went in, when it went in and who was there.

What to photograph on site

Progress photos from fixed points

Pick a handful of spots that will still exist as the building goes up: the site gate, a corner of the neighbouring road, then a fixed position on each floor once the frame is in. Photograph them on the same day each week, at about the same time, so the light is similar. Label each spot once, such as Gate view or Level 2 east, and use the same labels every time so the photos can be compared.

Within a job, your before photo shows faintly on the camera screen when you take the after, so the two line up from the same position. A clean pair of the same view, weeks apart, explains progress to a client faster than a written update.

Daily site photos in place of a long report

A daily photo set from each area, attached to a job, is a lighter alternative to writing everything up. Each photo is saved with who took it and when. For your client, the job link shows each area with your logo; for the office, the dashboard and Excel export list every job, who was on it and when it finished.

JobProof doesn't produce a PDF. If your contract calls for a formal daily report, fill in a daily site report form and keep the photos alongside it as the evidence.

Subcontractors and crews

Create a job per area or trade and assign it with a location pin and a due date. Crew see only their own jobs unless you choose otherwise, the screen uses big numbered steps, and it keeps working without signal in basements and stair cores. A job can't be completed without an After photo, so every area signed off comes back with evidence.

Questions

Does it replace a construction management system?

No. It is a job and photo tool, without drawings, RFIs or programmes. It can pass finished jobs to other systems through Zapier, Make, a webhook or the API.

How many photos can one job hold?

Up to 500. On a long project, split the work into jobs by stage, area or week.

Can I add drone photos?

Yes. Copy them to your phone and bring them into the job from the camera roll, next to the photos taken on the ground.

Your next job is a before photo.
